Fred Hersch

Fred Hersch is an American jazz pianist and composer who served as a sideman in several ensembles before stroking out as band leader with his debut album, Horizons, in 1984. With a style that blends traditional jazz sounds with elements of contemporary experimentation, Hersch has managed to distinguish himself as one of the more formidable jazz pianists on the New York scene.
