Heidevolk

Dubbing its sound "Dutch pagan folk metal," the Netherlands six-piece Heidevolk blends Nordic mythology with heavy metal riffs. Each album is a history lesson about its native Gelderland and each band member always stays in character, dressed like vikings that drink beer and steal your women. While the concept of folk-metal might seem absurd, the band's dedication is admirable and its music is certainly unique if nothing else.
