Now based out of Bristol, England, Troy Ellis was born to a Jamaican family of musical distinction, his father a recipient of the admirable Order of Distinction, bestowed on him by the governor of Jamaica. After performing with his father at the Reggae Awards at The Royal Albert Hall, Ellis gained his own recognition on the reggae-roots music scene. Meeting up with The Longshots, a six-piece band accustomed to playing Bob Marley covers and more modern ska, Ellis became the band's frontman and the group subsequently released multiple albums together and continue to tour throughout the world.
