With the Black Crowes on a hiatus, lead singer Chris Robinson confirmed his new project on the last night of the Crowes' "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys" farewell tour. Dubbed the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, the band introduced itself to the music scene as a psychedelic folk/blues act on a tour of California in March of 2012 with Robinson on lead vocals, Neal Casal on guitar, Muddy Dutton on bass and George Sluppick on drums. After extending its tour across the US, the Chris Robinson Brotherhood released its debut album Big Moon Ritual, in the summer of 2012 followed by a companion album, The Magic Door in the fall.
