Brooklyn act, The Phenomenal Handclap Band has as many syllables in its name as it does members, and just as its title is a mouthful, the amount of musical influences crammed into the band's sound is a bit overwhelming too. However, despite its vast diversity and tongue twister band name, the group's sound is anything but chaotic - epic, yes, but chaotic, no. The clarity and precision in each song portrays the talent of each individual musician as well as the band's ability to mesh together as a whole. With its fresh blend of psych, disco and soulful '60s rock, coupled with its tremendous stage presence, The Phenomenal Handclap Band deserves all the hype it has received.
