After coming together as a supporting band for guitarist Roine Stolt's solo tour in 1994, The Flower Kings stayed together and would go on to release a dozen album within the next two decades. Named after the album it was promoting on its inaugural tour, The Flower King, the band creates progressive rock music based on the creative leadership of Stolt, who has remained the band's only consistent member. Though The Flower Kings' mainstream appeal faded into the 2000s, the band has earned a solid following with its symphonic rock tunes, vocal harmonies and abstract lyrics.
