Christophe Miossec is a singer/songwriter from Brittany, France who releases music under the mononym Miossec. After studying literature at University and spending time working odd jobs, mostly in the journalism field, he turned back to music, a business he had already been acquainted with ever since his teenage years when he toured with a rock and roll band. Miossec teamed up with guitarists Guillaume Jouan and Bruno Leroux, and released his debut album, Boire, in 1995 with his long-time label, the Belgian independent imprint PIAS Recordings. The album was met with a surprising amount of critical acclaim, particularly for an artist who nearly gave up music, and it set the tone for Miossec's career. He has since continued to craft his signature, poignant brand of acoustic soft rock on albums such as his ninth studio LP, Ici-bas ici meme, which was released in 2009.
