New Model Army

The English post-rock group New Model Army interjects elements of social activism and humanitarianism into its music to create songs that are full of heady layers. The group was formed in 1980 and helped influence a wake of instrumental drone rock acts that emerged in the years since New Model Army's inception. Though the band has experienced its ups and downs (even losing a member to pancreatic cancer in 2004), the group is still releasing new, interesting material and continues to tour around the world.
