Barry Manilow

Barry Manilow is a musician who people tend to either love or hate, but regardless of ones taste for lovers rock, it can't be denied that Manilow has reached pop culture heights rivaled by few artists in history. On top of his hit singles and multi-platinum albums, in 1978 he became one of only five artists in the world to have five albums, his first five consecutive albums starting with his 1973 eponymous debut to his 1978 triple platinum record, simultaneously occupy spots on the best-selling charts. His songs "Copacabana (At the Copa)," "Could It Be Magic" and his 1974 breakthrough hit, "Mandy" have become American classics, and several of his musical peers who are considered to bare more artistic integrity, such as Bob Dylan, have professed their love for his music. With over two dozen studio albums and another dozen soundtrack and compilation albums under his belt, Manilow is a pop star whose name says as much about him as his music, and there is no denying his staying power.
