Grupo Fantasma

Latin and funk might at first seem like two musical genres that wouldn't blend well together. The two styles of music don't exactly share a convergence of sound, but both genres are instrumental in helping people get up from their seats and out onto the dance floor. The Austin, Texas-based band Grupo Fantasma must have noticed this special relationship that the two styles of music share when it decided to hunker down and create music for the first time in 2000. The band's horn-heavy sound resounds well with the city of Austin and the group tends to play several unannounced shows around its home turf.
