Some bands get pissed off for the hell of it. These bands think their anger will provide some sort of perceived musical depth and hope it'll go on to impress fans. This contrived anger is hollow, though, and most intelligent music listeners can see though it. While these bands pride themselves on faux musical stylings, one band that has no shortage of reasons to be pissed off is the Los Angeles based group Rage Against the Machine. The hard rock band's lyrics center around the atrocities of globalization and the impact powerful nations, like the United States, have on impotent third world countries. The band's musical style centers around alien guitar sounds, solid rhythmic timing and bombastic vocals--all ingredients that helped pioneer a unique style of alternative rock that rose the group to prominence in the 1990s.
