Since its riot-inducing debut performance on the New Years Eve of 2001, crossover thrash band Municipal Waste has come to be known for its alcohol-soaked raucous live shows. The Richmond, VA-based band released its self-titled debut album in 2001 and began playing unscheduled surprise shows during after hours around its hometown. In 2005 Municipal Waste signed with Earache Records to released Hazardous Mutation, its first acclaimed album, before embarking on a US tour with Gwar. The band extended its tour into 2007 and went on to play international festivals such as 2009's Redding Festival in support of its fourth studio album, Massive Aggressive.
