The world is coming to an end. This probably isn't true (at least for the next few thousand years) but it's what the New York based progressive metal band A Storm of Light would like you to believe. The group creates quasi-rock operas that center around the apocalypse and post-apocalyptic life as the members of A Storm of Light predict it to become. While there is something fantasy-like about the band's themes and lyrics, the four-piece's instrumentals are extremely straight-laced and with tinges of post-rock drone, A Storm of Light manages to come across as a paranoid rock band that's unafraid to indulge in its conspiracy theories and end of time delusions.
