The English alt rock band Proxy seems afraid of being considered self indulgent. This has led the group to create songs that are intricate, yet not overtly showy or flashy by any means. The group's 2008 debut album, Between the Screens, rose the band to prominence in the U.K., with critics referring to them as a "proper band."
