Seattle-based band Sunn O))) is a doom metal act that combines various heavy metal sub-genres such as drone, ambient, black and alternative metal. With musicians Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson as its core members, the band collaborates with various musicians on and off stage to produce its avant-garde sound. Since the release of its debut album ØØ Void, in 2003, Sunn O))) has been widely considered one of the leading acts in modern metal.
