The bamboo plant is the fastest growing woody plant in the world, expanding at times as fast as 60 cm (25 in) a day. The Australian funk band The Bamboos share a common trait with the perennial it was named after and on stage the band starts things off slowly but after truly locking in, the funk/soul group grows and reaches new sonic heights that, at first, could seem unimaginable.
