When most people hear extremely distorted guitars, indiscernible lyrics, and caveman-like drumming all coming out of blown speakers they think its sonic garbage. A small but dedicated few consider this an extremely artistic form of brash noise called Sludge Metal. A champion of this niche genre is the Ohio-based four-piece Mouth of the Architect. The group has been making sounds together since 2003, and by now the group has honed itself enough to make its songs almost sound like actual compositions put together by talented instrumentalists.
