Guitar rock has made Bloc Party's lead singer Kele Okereke a weary man. So weary in fact, he's taken to writing electronic songs. For his solo work, he offers a modern take on 1980s synthpop by blending infectious grooves with familiar melodies. While saccharine electronic beats act as the foundation of each song, Kele's ever present voice is a thankful reminder that this mechanized style of music is still composed by a living, breathing musician.
