Black Pistol Fire

Kevin McKeown and Eric Owen have been friends since kindergarten. After finding a mutual appreciation for rock and roll music while attending high school, they both decided to take up instruments and form a band--McKeown on guitar and Owen on drums. As the two played more and more together they arrived at a characteristic sound that blends the world of floor-stomping blues, scuzzy garage rock with tinges of psychedelic to create a listen worthy sonic amalgamation. After moving to Austin, Texas in 2009, the duo started playing gigs as Black Pistol Fire, quickly being noticed by noted producer Jim Diamond, who would go on to producer the band's eponymously titled 2011 LP.
