When thinking about it from an elevated perspective, it's surprising that more death metal bands don't come from Arizona. The harsh desert region is extremely hot, dry, full of strange looking plants and shares somewhat of a resemblance to the nether-region that most people refer to as hell. The landscape is so inhospitable that it can drive regular people mad and mad people regular...or at least fairly normal. And what do normal people do? Well, most of them have jobs and are driven to do something with their days. For these folks that are turned normal, due to the heat, death metal is a way of expression. The outfit Job for a Cowboy is comprised of a bunch of these guys and they find that the heat helps them compose angry songs that would probably make the devil proud. The group has been around since 2003 and with an ardent touring schedule the group is taking its characteristic form of desert death metal to the masses on a near constant basis.
