Dave Koz is a hugely successful American saxophonist who works mainly within the genre of jazz, primarily smooth jazz. Koz first gained recognition as a solo artist in the early 1990s, releasing a series of successful solo albums under Capitol Records. In 1994, he moved into radio, co-hosting a program on L.A.'s 94.7 The Wave, a popular smooth jazz station. After hosting for over a decade, Koz moved on in 2007, handing his duties over to fellow artist Brian McNight. Koz has been operating his own record label since 2002, and has since been self-producing a barrage of successful jazz albums. In 2009, Koz got his own star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
