First getting their start doing the production work for 1990s boy band N'Sync, Dennis “D-Rakkas” Shaw and Alex Greggs didn't stop at pop production. After Shaw dabbled in dancehall and reggae and began making hits in Jamaica, he came back to the states, leading him and Greggs to become involved with more electronic production work. With one of the most diverse and impressive list of artists the duo has worked with (including Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Duran Duran, Rusko and M.I.A.), and devout fans at Pitchfork, The Guardian and XLR8R, South Rakkas Crew can do no wrong. The duo's production work eventually led the creation of its own material that melds hard-hitting beats with dancehall, and allows just the right amount of pop to infiltrate the tracks.
