Roxy Music

When a few English art school students decided to form a band in the early 1970s, they wanted to create a group that pulled heavily from experimental and avant-garde approaches to composition. The group (later to be dubbed Roxy Music) made music that was highly original, and many of its songs went on to influence countless other musicians and bands. The Roxy Music aesthetic was slightly peacockish at first, but over the years the group has grown into its own and is widely-considered to be one of the more significant bands to have emerged out of the 1970s.
