Inspired at a young age by the UK's thriving garage electronic music scene, Melesha O'ggaro started to write lyrics for herself at the ripe age of 11. Soon, whilst still in school, she began to perform and her natural abilities were quickly made evident. Adopting the stage name of Lady Leshurr, the songstress independently released her first mix-tape when she was 16. In 2007, Lady Leshurr was traveling around the UK, performing at various clubs, when she entered and won the "Best Unsigned Female" contest, which helped her secure a spot on the independent label Colourful State in 2008. Having since released an LP of original material, Lady Leshurr's prominence has grown by leaps and bounds in the UK, and with more touring outside of her home country, her fame will undoubtedly continue to grow.
