Neil Diamond

Neil Diamond is one of the archetypes of the adult contemporary genre. His pop sensibilities and easy to like personality lifted him to prominence in the '70s with a slew of radio-friendly hits. Though the New York singer/songwriter could easily have fallen into the baneful world of Las Vegas lounge singers as his career hit its twilight phase, Diamond managed to persist and stay somewhat relevant with fresh studio releases and a consistent touring schedule.
