Chris Young is a Tennessee-based country musician who was declared the winner of the reality television program Nashville Star in 2006. From an early age Young displayed a knack for performing, acting in several school plays as a child, and becoming an accomplished guitarist and singer, who could also write his own original songs. While enrolled in college, Young managed to tour frequently and play a large amount of shows around the country while maintaining his scholastic schedule. After performing in Arlington, Texas, an admirer of Young's music came up to him and suggested that he try out for a reality TV show that would spotlight budding country musicians. After auditioning and catching the eyes of judges as well as American audiences with his characteristic style of down home country pop, Young progressed through the show's final rounds until he was crowned winner. He released his eponymously titled debut LP in 2006 and since then has maintained a respectable level of attention amongst country music listeners for his catchy and heartfelt songs.
