The Priests are an Irish classical crossover vocal trio, consisting of Fathers Eugene O'Hagan, Martin O'Hagan and David Delargy. The trio formed in 2008 and have since released four studio albums, all of which have achieved critical and commercial success. Their debut album, The Priests, was released in 2008 and reached number one in the UK Classical Albums Chart. It was certified gold in the UK and Ireland and was nominated for a Classical Brit Award. The Priests' music is a unique blend of classical, traditional Irish and contemporary music. Their repertoire includes traditional Irish hymns, classical pieces, and popular songs from the likes of Leonard Cohen, U2 and The Beatles. They have performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra and the Ulster Orchestra. The Priests have toured extensively throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe, the US and Canada. They have performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House. They have also performed for Pope Benedict XVI and Queen Elizabeth II. The Priests have been praised for their unique sound and their ability to bring classical music to a wider audience. Their music has been described as "uplifting and inspiring" and has been credited with helping to bridge the gap between classical and popular music.
