Starting his career as a drummer in different semi-successful German bands in the early 1970s, Udo Lindenberg became one of the most famous German rock singers and songwriters of all time. His breakthrough as a solo artist was achieved with the 1973 album Andrea Doria and its catchy single "Alles klar auf der Andrea Doria". Since then, he has crafted an unmistakable style, consisting of his unusual way of singing and showing off his pretentious lifestyle. Udo Lindenberg always performs his songs with his band, called the Panikorchester (Panic Orchestra), and he is almost never seen without his distinctive hat and sunglasses.
