Long considered to be the Tejano capital of the United States, San Antonio is a culturally rich city in Texas that has seen its fair share of historical events. While the city's cousin, Austin, normally gets all the cred for being a music capital, most people don't realize that San Antonio has a good amount of adept musicians who contribute to the overall musically rich mecca that is San Antonio. One such byproduct is the San Antonio Symphony. Formed in 1887 by a German immigrant, the orchestra plays from September to early June and incorporates several local South West instrumental flourishes into its repertoire.
