Hailing from New Orleans, the post rock band Mutemath is known for creating a blend of electro-alternative rock and experimental pop music. After using social media sites to gather attention for its first album, the band released its 2006 eponymous debut LP and embarked on a tour with fellow up-and-coming indie band The Fray. With the release of its music video for "Typical," the band's reach spread further across the world as the track was featured on several television and radio stations as well as in Michael Bay's blockbuster film, Transformers. Mutemath released its most renowned album Armistice, in 2009 before its 2011 effort, Odd Soul, while maintaining its catchy, commercially marketable alternative sound.
