Big Quarters is a Minnesota-based hip-hop duo consisting of Medium Zach (production/raps) and Brandon Allday (raps). The group self-produced its debut release, Cost of Living, in 2007, quickly earning a positive reputation in the Minneapolis hip-hop scene it calls home. Combining a hybrid of live and electronic music, the duo's beats are at once modern and evocative of the golden era of hip-hop. The pair's Mexican heritage at time plays a part in its lyrics, as does a wealth of other topics that tend to stay away from the well-tread subject matter of more mainstream-focused hip-hop. When he's not performing with Allday as Big Quarters, Medium Zach will often lend his production talents out to prominent names such as P.O.S. and Brother Ali.
