Experimental rock band Kerretta brought a new dynamic to the hard rock genre when it formed in 2006. The New Zealand-based band is exclusively an instrumental act composed of guitarist David Holmes, bassist William Waters and drummer H. Walker. After generating enthusiasm with its lives shows, Kerretta release its first single "Death In the Future"/"Wisnierska" in 2007. The band's 2009 debut album Vilayer, was a self-produced effort released by Golden Antenna that the band supported with a North American tour. The tour included a performance at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, exposing Kerretta's cinematic music to a new audience. Kerretta released in sophomore album, Saansilo in 2011, which picks up exactly where its first album left off with its dark and ambient brand of hard rock.
