Co-founders of the underground hip-hop collective Hieroglyphics, Souls of Mischief is a hip-hop and rap group based out of Oakland, CA. By the time they were eight years old, members Tajai and A-Plus were making rhymes together on the playground of their elementary school. After meeting Phesto and Opio in junior high and high school respectively, they officially formed Souls of Mischief. The group's smooth west coast hip-hop quickly attracted the attention of old school hip-hop fans as well as Jive Records. Souls of Mischief signed with the major label in 1993 and released its acclaimed debut album 'Til Infinity, later that year. Although the four-man act was dropped from the label after only two albums, the last of which was 1995's No Man Land, Souls of Mischief formed Hieroglyphics with artists such as Del the Funky Homosapien, Casual and Pep Love. After recording two successful studio album's with Hieroglyphics, Souls of Mischief released its third album Montezuma's Revenge, in 2009.
