Kasey Chambers is an Australian alternative country singer/songwriter. Born into a musical family, Chambers began her career as a young child touring with her family in the Dead Ringer Band. Kasey's solo career has been extremely successful, garnering her a large fan base, multiple awards, and top-selling records. She has become the only Australian country music artist to have a no. 1 single and album on the ARIA Charts at the same time. In the early 2000s, Her song "The Captain" was featured in an episode of the television series The Sopranos, helping her international exposure. She began to appear on American television shows, including The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Nights with Conan O'Brien. Kasey was also invited by Dolly Parton to take part in her tribute album Just Because I Am A Woman. Along with continuing to work on her music career and a side project called Kasey Chambers, Poppa Bill & The Little Hillbillies, Chambers is also working on a children's book and a joint album with her father.
