For the majority of his life Alexander Glazunov was proud of Russia - his home country. When the Russian Revolution broke out Glazunov - who happened to be an extreemly tallented classical composer - wrote compositions that were refered to as inspiration for many of the political big wigs who over threw the czarist government. As the composer grew older, though, his ideologies started to change and he began to contemplate exile out of Russia. There was really no way he could do this without offically being regarded as unpatriotic. So, to trick the Russians, Glazunov told everyone that he was leaving Russia for health reasons. The countrypeople of Russia actually bought it and Glazunov lived out the rest of his life in Paris - The City of Light.
