Monophonics is a scuzzy funk band from San Francisco that was formed in 2005. Opting to blend various genres like psychedelic rock and soul within the confines of a 1960s, funk-influenced garage band, Monophonics has managed to create a unique sound for itself that has helped it attract a solid fan base around the San Francisco Bay Area. 2012 served as somewhat of a breakout year for the band, with it playing an astonishing amount of shows and sharing the stage with the likes of noted music luminaries Al Green, Galactic and Soulive.
