Metric

The Canadian outfit Metric is a new wave-inspired indie rock band that was formed in 1998. Though the group has been recording music since 2001, it didn't receive noted widespread attention until 2009 with the release of its breakthrough album Fantasies. Featuring the hit single "Help I'm Alive," the album sparked several international tours on which Metric collected a fan base with its pop-friendly and relatively easy to digest sound. As Metric has honed in on its 1980s influences and came into its own, its stylistic approach matured and the band has gone on to reach a wider audiences audiences.
