The Soft Boys

Formed in 1976, English punk rock band The Soft Boys managed to rise above the myriad of other late-1970s UK groups with a sound that blended an unabashed pop sensibility and psychedelic rock style with a more hard-lined punk aesthetic. After gigging around England for a couple of years, the group released its debut album, A Can of Bees, in 1979, although, its best-regarded piece of work is its sophomore album Underwater Moonlight, which was released in 1980. The Soft Boys disbanded in 1980, but has since managed to reunite occasionally to play shows and festivals to fervent, albeit slightly older, audiences.
