Black Marble

Black Marble is a New York-based duo that creates a textually rich style of synthwave, with dissonant rhythms and haunting vocal accompaniments. Founded in 2011 by Chris Stewart and Ty Kube, the duo's DIY approach to music and art is blatantly evident on its 2012 debut LP, A Different Arrangement. Though Black Marble's avant-garde influenced music might be difficult for some who are unfamiliar with art-heavy tastes to digest, the duo has nevertheless managed to build a strong reputation for itself among the indie glitterati of New York.
