Best known as Sporty Spice in the hit UK girl group The Spice Girls, Melanie C (or Mel C) began her solo career as soon as the group broke up in 1998. While her albums have been fairly sporadic, since 2005, Melanie C has been a consistent presence on the UK's music charts. Melanie C's music is generally in the Top 40 dance-pop vein and the songstress has also found her way into film and theatre.
