Little Brother (years active: 2001-2010) was an alternative hip-hop group from Durham, North Carolina that is considered by many to have been the most prominent underground rap group of the 2000s. Over the course of its nearly 10 year career on the alternative hip-hop scene, Little Brother released four critically-acclaimed albums and several mixtapes that worked toward defining the underground hip-hop sound during the decade. The group disbanded in 2010 due to personal differences, however, many alternative hip-hop acts cropping up in the second decade of the 21st Century owe much to Little Brother's hard work in the genre.
