Belgian-French composer, Cesar Franck, created the most major works of any French composer of the 19th century. Franck's compositions for violin, piano and organ are rife with Franck's singular command of modulations of key. He employed a cyclic form in much of his compositions, in which a sense of unity is achieved throughout diverse pieces using repetition. This strategy of Franck's is said to have breathed new life into chamber music, ensuring his mark on the late Romantic music of the era.
