Sertab Erener

Classically trained as a soprano and known in Turkey as a pop diva, Sertab Erener struggled to get her career off the ground in the 80s and 90s, entering two Eurovision Song Contests, but not making it very far. She did however, go onto to release these failed songs in her native country, and they received a highly positive response, charting for many weeks. Finally in 2003, the singer won the Eurovision contest, proving the third time's a charm and has since released two English language albums and been featured on multiple film soundtracks.
