With its reggae-inspired rock and affable sonic demeanor, Long Beach, California-based trio Sublime romanticized a whole generation of stoned slackers who caught waves, drank lite beer and enjoyed the mellow lifestyle of Southern California. Though the group achieved greater success after the passing of lead singer Bradley Nowell (due to a drug overdose in 1996), the band's remaining members bassist Eric Wilson and drummer Bud Gaugh reformed in 2009 with a new lead singer Rome Ramirez. Adopting the moniker Sublime with Rome, the group continues to rouse audiences with renditions of the band's beach bum stoner anthems of the 1990s.
