During an altercation in 2000, 50 Cent (aka Curtis Jackson) was struck by nine bullets and hospitalized for three weeks. After recovering and pursuing a career as a professional rapper, 50 Cent was discovered by Eminem and signed to Interscope Records. His debut commercial release Get Rich or Die Tryin' went multi-platinum and led 50 Cent to become one of the more recognized rappers of his generation. He's held vocal squabbles with Ja Rule, Fat Joe and Jadakiss, amongst others, proving that his ability to shame and embarrass other rappers is formidable and nearly unmatched.
