French five-piece Concrete Knives rehashes 1980s dance-pop, but updates it with modern indie rock boy-girl harmonies and sharp, tight guitar work akin to that of New York's post punk revivalists. Despite the band members' French roots, Concrete Knives' music showcases English lyrics and lacks the traditional French pop influences expected from French bands. Despite--or perhaps because of--the group's dismissal of French traditions, Concrete Knives has amassed a large fan base amongst France's youth.
