Malaysia-born and Australian-based artist Guy Sebastian is a singer/songwriter with an R&B pop sound. He got his start as a contestant on the first season of Australian Idol in 2003, and after winning the show he released his debut album Just as I Am. He leaned toward the R&B side of his fusion sound for his follow-up effort, 2007's Beautiful Life, which includes songs co-written by Robin Thicke and Brian McKnight, as well as a duet with R&B vocalist Mya. Inspired by his work on The Memphis Album, a tribute record of soul classics, Sebastian wrote and recorded an original soul album, titled Like it Like That, in 2009 that further proved his dynamic songwriting abilities. The same year he was chosen as a judge for Australian's X-Factor, continuing his television talent competition career while splitting his time between his home country and promoting his album in the US. Despite his television commitments and his work as ambassador for charities such as The Red Cross and Ronald Mcdonald House, Sebastian continues to write and record his music, including his sixth studio album, 2012's Armageddon.
