Deap Vally is a blues rock duo founded in 2011 in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Lindsey Troy and drummer Julie Edwards, who met while attending a needlework class and quickly bonded over a shared love of the blues, Deap Vally's music has been compared to the raw dual chemistry of blues indebtors like The Black Keys and The White Stripes. With skuzzy guitars, growled vocals and an unhinged approach to rhythm, the duo has managed to become a noteworthy act of the Southern California music scene, even securing a spot at the revered Coachella Music and Arts festival in 2013.
