Lara Fabian, born Lara Crokaert in 1970, is a Belgian-Italian singer, pianist and keyboardist. Upon receiving a piano for Christmas in 1978, Fabian realized her calling as a musician. A lyric soprano, she got her start taking singing lessons, booking small performances with help from her parents and singing in competitions. After releasing several successful singles, Fabian released her first album in 1991. She moved to Quebec and charmed the regional community with her musical styling just as she had done in Brussels. Impressively multilingual, she sings in languages such as English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. In 2019, she released her fourteenth studio album, Papillon, and embarked on the 50 World Tour to celebrate the release, her 50th birthday, three decades in the music industry and over 20 million albums sold.
