Exitmusic is the indie electronic project of Brooklyn-based artists Aleska Palladino and Devon Church. The now-married couple released its first album The Decline of the West, in 2008, with a brooding but beautiful fusion of dream pop, trip-hop and post punk sounds. The album was met with critical acclaim for its haunting vocals and soundscapes of syncopated beats and reverberating guitar. Exitmusic's hypnotic style carried over into its 2011 follow-up EP From Silence, which considers personal and universal loss and destruction through dark synthesizers and pulsing rhythms.
